Introducing CDLA - The Future of Music

#SuperFans, keep this in mind – you’re amongst the first to hear about it, first to know about it and first to experience it… and you’re going to be hearing a lot more about it because this is the new industry standard. Feel proud to be amongst the earliest adopters of the brand new industry standard.

With CDLA we’re challenging the notion that Hi-Fi is good enough. We’re challenging the accepted ancient analogue features and storming into the future with type-C jacks & dedicated CDLA earphones.

At first, may look like simple changes – and that’s the beauty of it – they are. And through these changes alone, we have completely changed the structure of audio, no longer do we have to put up with a mixed analogue/digital experience – this is pure digital as we can provide a true digital audio experience with end-to-end lossless audio. This will then have a knock-on effect as we will create an industry landscape that pushes manufacturers in the phone & earphone industries into embracing full digitization of audio.

In short – we are accelerating innovation. For you, for the industry & for music.

Why? Well we at LeEco thought it was about time to initiate the digital audio revolution.

LeEco Membership – Welcome to your complete content library

Our 3/5/16 #Supertainment event has come and gone, but the effects of the event will be felt for years to come, namely, in your brand new content library.

Incase you missed it, Sidharth Malhotra and Jacqueline Fernandez stopped by to pick up their brand new Le 1s Eco phones, and answer a few questions regarding just why they chose to be part of our Le Family. Their dedication to the art of film and our recent developments in the entertainment industry are no coincidence. Partnering with artists to bring their work to your screen is at the core of what we do.

Proudly modeling her very first #SuperPhone.

Let’s look at a real-world example…

You were just speaking with your friends about Kick or Ek Villain and have a sudden, insatiable hankering to revisit the film. No need to hunt it down on a streaming website, or subscribe to a third-party service that brings you an often-limited selection of movies. Just open up LeVidi and find what you’re looking for. Our library of blockbuster and indie films, compliments of EROS, is 2,000+ strong and will only grow in the future.

In another instance, maybe you’re feeling like exploring something new. You don’t have a particular genre or actor in mind. One of LeVidi’s other capabilities is aggregating popular videos from the Internet to bring you quality content that you’ve yet to discover.

See that mosaic of content behind our talented dancers? It’s just a fraction of what’s accessible through LeEco.

Feel like settling into a new TV series? How about Naagin or Yeh hai Mohabbatein? Our partnership with YuppTV has merged broadcasted content and the smartphone into one composite device. The tech sphere has been too slow in adopting this as a norm, so we’ve taken the reigns. Simply put, if you want to flip on the TV, you don’t have to be a couch potato to do so. You can enjoy 100+ channels right at your fingertips. CNBC Bazar, Saam TV, Sony Entertainment, Tupur Tapur, JUS 24x7, the list goes on…

Now let’s touch on music. It’s no secret that the streaming services battle has been waging for several years now. We’ve seen massive steps taken towards bringing users the music they want, when they want it. However, there are some downsides - namely ads and audio quality. If you’re an audiophile you know that 128 or 192 kbps just doesn’t cut it if you’re playing your tunes through a quality pair of headphones or a high-end sound system You also don’t want some ad for insurance blaring through your loudspeakers at a party, mucking up your carefully curated playlist. This is why we’ve worked with Hungama to bring you 3.5 million songs in 320 kbps with no advertisements.

3.5 million songs right in your pocket.

Again, this isn’t some third-party platform that we’re touting. It’s homegrown and available to all our members. LeMusic and our LIVE desktop are all about streaming the entertainment straight to your screen. Nothing beats the first row of a gig, but as we all know, making it out to see a band, DJ or singer you’re into in person isn’t always possible. That’s why in addition to music you’ll also have access to 50+ live concerts around the globe. You don’t even need to parse through YouTube to find what you’re looking for, just swipe right on your home screen and you’re there.

On the 24th of May our video services will become a reality, with the music services following in Q3 of this year, so be on the lookout for the OTA update. Memberships are ₹490 a month or ₹4,900 a year, or if you get in on our first flash sale of the Le 1s Eco on Flipkart, you’ll get a one year
LeEco Membership and your brand new device for ₹9,999.

Enough with the endless apps and niche services that help you access just one component of the media you love. What we’re offering is a legitimate home for all entertainment. So who out there wants to be part of the content revolution?

Android Nougat

Android Nougat
Google recently released the fifth and last preview - Android Nougat before the scheduled final release. However, not many changes are expected beyond bug fixes and a few usability improvements. Earlier, the fourth developer preview brought the finalized APIs, latest system behaviors and UI, system images for Nexus and other preview devices. Fans can now look forward to the return of fully functional quick toggles in the new notification shade.

Pokémon Go
The world is going crazy about Pokémon Go since its July 6th release and if you've stepped outside recently, you’ve probably seen or dodged many a Pokémon Go player. This free-to-play location-based augmented reality mobile game experience allows players to hunt for strange hidden creatures, capture them and compete for territory in a digital version of the real world.

Undoubtedly, Pokémon Go has been a success in every single way and one of the biggest viral and social phenomenon we've seen so far in mobile world. So #SuperFans, what are you waiting for? You gotta catch 'em all!

Prisma
There are been many image-editing mobile apps released over the last few years. Although, the most popular app of the year may go to Pokémon Go, the best app title might just go to another newcomer: Prisma. This photo app from Russia uses artificial intelligence to turn images into impressionist paintings within seconds.

It transforms your photos into artworks using the styles of famous artists: Munch, Van Gogh, Picasso, and Mondrian to your digital snapshots as well as popular patterns and ornaments like DC comic book illustrations. The app returns the result in seconds, which users can save to their devices and share on social networks like Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Now turn your memorable moments into timeless art by using artificial intelligence.

WhatsApp
A new feature on WhatsApp is now allowing users to change the text font for chatting. The font is similar to Fixedsys in windows and is also named the same.
The feature cannot be enabled or made active by clicking a button but it can be turned on by the help of certain characters. For example, including asterisks around a message will make it bold.

Likewise, including underscores on both the side of a text will make it turn italic and putting a text with tildes, ~this way~, will strike out the text. Have fun impressing your WhatsApp friends with these new fonts!

Reliance Jio

Due to launch commercially by the end of 2016, Reliance Jio (earlier known as Infotel Broadband Services Limited) aims to enable transformation by creating a cutting-edge voice and broadband network. Offering a unique combination of telecom, high speed data, and payment services, Jio claims to have 1.5 million users on the network already.

Its services will use Voice over LTE (Long Term Evolution) for voice calling services and claims to offer much better quality and connectivity than its competitors. Analysts who have tested Jio's 4G network during trials say they have experienced peak download speed of 70 Mbps, and on most occasions in the 15-30 Mbps range.

LeEco In News !

‘LeEco provides matchless experience… one never seen before.’

Impressive stuff. The article described firstly how it is LeEco that are the most prominent tech company trying to popularize huge levels of RAM and Internal Memory. Here at LeEco, we agree that 3GB RAM and 32 GB Internal Memory is huge – but that’s because we want to give you everything you’ll need for a future proof phone – to be able to continuously play the most demanding apps – seamlessly and in their multiples. We really think any company not offering you this amount of freedom in your phone – is well… let’s say being disingenuous with their fans. As another headline perfectly sums up - ‘LeEco set to take the mobile gaming world to a higher “3+32” era’

Secondly… many articles, including those above included a great list and review of our brand new OTA update… so check what they had to say… one read like this…

‘EUI 5.8 – 5 awesome things you might’ve missed…’

1. Want ultimate control over your data usage? Phone Manager gives you super-grip control over this, sometimes painful worry. You can now choose which individual apps can use your Wi-Fi and or cellular data.

2. A website not optimized for mobile properly yet? No problem – users have the option of the “very large font size – making all web pages easily readable, clickable and accessible.

3. Have to take a lot of screenshots? But hate to have to take multiple of the same page? With you can now take LONG SCREEN SHOTS – so you can easily cap the entire page.

4. The update also brings in new and update music app with refreshed UI. There are also more sorting options – such as sort by genre, name, albums and time. In addition to this, for the music buffs who like to make tweaks, the updated app also has an equalizer.

What do you think #SuperFans? Agree with the above? Let us know your thoughts in the comments.

Thirdly… ‘Le Max 2 is the perfect smartphone for: students & young professionals alike’

Well – let’s paraphrase the article shall we?

Le Max2 for Working professionals:

• Enough storage to carry all your documents around (4GB RAM + 32GB ROM / 6GB RAM + 64GB ROM)
• Increases productivity with smooth multi-tasking
• Generous RAM and Superior processor (Quad-core Qualcomm® Snapdragon™ 820) to have both personal and official stuff at the same time

Le Max2 for Students:

• Carry around all your music (CDLA standard ensures users to enjoy lossless music)
• Vivid display to watch videos (5.7 inch WQHD display)
• Click and share your world (with the 21MP PDAF rear Camera and 8MP front Camera).
• Light and sturdy, fun to carry around

As both a working professional… with some extremely student-like habits still – I can definitely say that my Le Max2 ticks all criteria… (but you know I’d say that!)

Next up!

‘LeEco becomes the top selling brand in the ‘Big Exchange Days’ on Flipkart!’

This is awesome. Flipkart and LeEco invited users to bring their existing smartphones in exchange for a discount of buying new ones. Of course, LeEco blew the opposition out of the water with by far the most exchanges of all mobile companies taking part. Could this be because of 3+32 era? Could it be the CDLA? Probably just the fact that Le Max2 is outstanding in… well… Every. Possible. Way.

So, let’s finish up this quick-fire roundup with a nice quote from our COO Atul Jain… "We’re humbled to see such an outstanding response from our users. We’ve surpassed our own records during the Flash Sales of our next generation Superphones and witnessed an overwhelming response during the registrations that preceded the recent three Flash Sales. This only reaffirms users’ trust in us that we’ve built in a short span of time since LeEco’s entry into India" - Atul Jain, COO, LeEco India.

That’s it for this week’s round-up. Did you guys find any other interesting LeEco related articles on the web, or even better… did you write your own? Share em! We’d love to read what you have to say.

Aesthetics & Audio

- Colour Palette, weight & dimensions

Here at LeEco we pride ourselves on putting performance in perfection. That’s why our products look – and feel amazing too. Finally #SuperFans, Le 2 gives a life not only of compromise – but of absolute progression. With getting rid of ancient features such as the 3.5mm input jack and replacing with Type-C – Le 2 fully supports the audio revolution of CDLA.

Le 2, which can be found over at LeMall, is offering you a complete mobile internet ecosystem – a phone to give a life without compromise.

Phew. And this is just the intro. Stay tuned for more articles about the Le 2 which will go into more details & specs of each individual class of features.

For now, thanks for reading #SuperFans,

Le Touch + Sense ID

With the ever increasing use of mobile banking, stock broking and other applications that use passwords on smartphones, security has become extremely essential in protecting people from hacking and identity theft.

Gone are the days of conventional pin-code verification where we struggled with memorising passwords to access our phones. Biometric and finger-print security authentication technology has been seen as an effective way to combat this issue.

Since no two fingerprints are same, fingerprint authentication allows just its rightful owner to access his phone.

LeEco has been well ahead in offering the best-in-class technology in the security authentication category and has been a strong proponent of fingerprint technology.

But how does one make the best even better?

Enter Qualcomm® Snapdragon Sense™ ID – on the new Le Max2 – a notch up from traditional biometric fingerprint authentication (which uses Capacitive touch-based sensors where only a surface-level impression of the fingerprint is captured by the use of electrical current) and providing accurate identification solution via ultrasonic technology.

Sense™ ID, paired by LeEco proprietary Le Touch fingerprint technology, captures highly detailed 3D acoustic information including minute details of a user's fingerprint by penetrating the outer layers of the skin and using sound waves to scan through all the nooks and crannies (including fingerprint ridges and sweat pores).

In short, you'll never compromise on security ever again.

Le 1s and Le 1s Eco Quick Update

Hello Guys,

If you've had issues with your Status bar becoming gray after setting Leview as the home page or had problems with the back button of your phone working automatically, the above update is for you!

This should resolve a few tiny niggles here and there.

LeEco - Le2 (Issues With Their Resolution)

Levidi on my Le 2 phone is being forcibly stopped when I download the update file. Can you please suggest a solution? Please try to restart your phone and open the Levidi once again. When Levidi is installing, please wait for a moment and do not touch the recent key or kill the application from the multi-task interface. This issue has now been fixed in the OTA on 04/07/2016.
Hi, I am unable to make a LeEco account through my Le 2 phone. Can you please help me?

Please send the problem via Feedback and provide your IMEI. We will solve the problem as soon as possible.

The long press on top side of the display of my Le 2 is getting a tick-tick sound. What is the reason for this?

When designing the Le 2, in the interest of ensuring durability, we chose to add a gasket underneath the display panel to absorb and spread out pressure from "hard-press" scenarios. This feature also protects the display from shattering due to small falls - to a certain extent! However, when a user exerts significant pressure on the display, there is a "click" or "creaking" sound produced due to electrostatic adherence between the display panel and the gasket. This does not affect the solid build quality, elegant design or the durability of the Le 2. We undertake Quality Control very seriously and this is not a defect. Thank you for trusting us and rest assured that we'll continue to innovate for you.

Why is the Flash disabled when using Night mode?

When taking photos in the night or under dark and dimmed lights, users could try Night mode with long exposure time, like 1/2. Make sure the phone is held steady when using long exposure time. Night mode improves the ISO to get a better picture so the Flash cannot not be used at the same time. If the user prefers a lighter picture, please try the Flash under normal mode. But please note that by using the Flash in the night, you might lose original colour.

Why does the notification number on the application icon and the number of notifications inside the application appearing mismatched?

Calls, Messages and Emails will show the missed call count and the rest of the applications will show the number of notifications available in the notification bar.

Why does the HDR mode take more time to capture pictures?

The HDR mode takes 3 pictures with different exposure levels and merges all the 3 pictures to give a better quality image. Hence it takes a few seconds for this process.

Is it possible for the Le 2 to support FM radio in the future?

The Le 2 doesn't have an FM radio but we have tons of content on our LIVE app - news, music and more! Have you tried it yet? We're also launching Le Music soon and, with more than 3.5 million songs, it will have all the music you'll ever need! :)

Recently some Le 2 users have reported that the phone locks itself frequently (automatically). Can you please help to correct this issue?

Please go to Settings > Accessibility > Hall Sensor > Disable. The Hall Sensor is 'Enabled' by default and we will change it to 'Disabled' from the 3rd OTA update onwards.

The "Launcher" on my Le 2 smart phone has stopped. How do I correct this?

To correct this issue, please clear the Launcher app data by going to Settings > App Management > Launcher > Storage > Clear Data.
